When the site already exists,
and needs tightening up.
A photographer’s portfolio on an existing GoodGallery platform. We worked on that site and improved it through custom CSS, JavaScript, SEO, content structure and visual adjustments — within what the GoodGallery system allows.
BIRO 404 did not build the GoodGallery platform. The site runs on it; we improved and adapted the existing site, we are not the authors of the platform itself. We write this down because the difference matters.

The brief, and what we did
The brief
- For the photographs to come first
- For the portfolio to carry emotion and trust
- For the visitor to reach the contact details easily
What was done on the live site
- Custom CSS for the look and the layout
- Custom JavaScript, within what the platform allows
- SEO architecture and content structure
- Visual adjustments and refinement of the presentation
Why this way.
Work within what the system allows, instead of breaking the system.
Put the photograph ahead of the interface.
Separate what is the platform from what is our work — and write it down publicly.
More was developed away from the live site as well: redesign prototypes, SEO architecture, a review system and future concepts.
What the job involved.
More work, and more guides.
The site exists, but it needs
tightening up?
It doesn’t all have to start from scratch. Send us the address of the site and we’ll come back with a short read on what is worth refining, and what is not.
